Summer League
Summer League FAQ
High school league details for Bay Area teams, coaches, and families.
The league consists of local high school basketball teams from around the Bay Area competing in Varsity Girls and JV Boys divisions.
All games will be played at Leigh High School, 5210 Leigh Ave, San Jose, CA 95124.
Each team is guaranteed 7 games, including pool play and championship bracket games.
Varsity Girls: 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm on all 7 league dates.
JV Boys: 4pm, 5pm, and 6pm for the first 5 league dates. The final 2 league dates will include 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, and 7pm start times.
Yes. Two certified officials will be assigned to every game.

3v3 FAQ
Outdoor half-court league details for players, team parents, and volunteers.
Games are played half court with two teams of 3 players, one basket, and smaller rosters. Each roster includes 4-6 players so teams can substitute during continuous play.
Boys and girls ages 9-14 can play, based on age on August 31, 2026. Divisions are Boys 10U, 12U, 14U and Girls 10U, 12U, 14U. Divisions are not co-ed.
Games will be played outdoors at an SJUSD school in Almaden Valley. Court assignments and the full schedule will be published once teams are confirmed.
League games are scheduled for three Sundays: August 9, 16, and 23, 2026. Each date includes three 30-minute games within a two-hour block. The league tournament is planned for the weekend of August 29-30, 2026.
Beginning June 2026, one team parent should create the team at almadenvalleybasketball.org. That parent invites players, and each player completes registration for that team.
Each division is expected to have 4-8 teams. Teams should have 5-6 players, and must have at least 4 players available for every August weekend.
Teams with fewer than 6 players may have free agents added. A free-agent list will also be maintained so players without a team can connect with each other or with pre-formed teams. Free agents are not guaranteed placement.
No. Teams are not required to have coaches, and active coaching is discouraged on game days. Teams designate a team captain to check in, report the final score, and sign out with the court monitor.
Yes. Paid court monitor and referee roles are planned for game days. Court monitors track time, score, and fouls, while one referee supports each game.
Yes. Registered players will receive reversible jerseys. Teams wear the dark color when listed as the away team, and the light color when listed as the home team. Jersey numbers are not required.
No. Teams should arrange their own practice time on available outdoor courts.
